Phoenix Suns / 5G Performance Center

APPROACH
The Verizon 5G Performance Center reimagines an aging training facility into a state-of-the-art environment supporting elite performance, recovery, and team culture. The project required a branded environment that could reflect the energy and identity of both the Phoenix Suns and Mercury while integrating environmental graphics into a cohesive and high-performance setting.

A strategy to develop a bold and cohesive identity-driven environment guided the design approach. Graphic elements are embedded throughout the facility, from neon and LED installations to dimensional wall graphics and perforated locker details. The design draws from the teams’ color palette, graphic language, and the surrounding desert landscape, creating a dynamic visual system that reinforces identity at every scale. Key moments include a glowing LED fireball installation anchoring the central courts, a commemorative roster wall honoring past players, and large-scale identity graphics that establish a strong sense of place and pride.

OUTCOME
The result is a high-energy, immersive environment that reinforces team identity while supporting performance and daily operations. The graphics system enhances orientation and creates moments of motivation, pride, and recognition throughout the facility. By embedding brand expression into the architecture, the environment strengthens team culture, elevates the athlete experience, and leaves a lasting impression on players, staff, and visitors.
